
The coast of Lower Deba offers you the sand of the joined beaches of Deba, OndarBeltz, Mutriku and Saturraran, where you can brown yourself in the sun and enjoy a variety of sports such as canoeing, surfing or windsurfing.
If you are looking for local colour, go and find it around the steep streets of Mutriku, a typical fishing village.

If on the other hand your are looking for peaceful tranquillity you will find exactly that in the remote coves of Mendata, Aitzuri or Sakoneta in Deba and furthermore on Sieteplayas in Mutriku. These rocky spots are an ideal setting for fishing or snorkelling and diving.
The turtle stone is a very uncommon geological curiosity and can be found on the coastal strip of Deba and Mutriku.
It is of volcanic origin and its formation is caused by depositing of mud balls at the botton of the sea, which then formed into spherical nodules, and later cracked and recrystallised with calcite providing its characteristic and beautiful desings.
