Mufoni (Elgoibar)

The Fossil and Mineral Museum in Elgoibar "Mufoni" has a large collection of fossils and minerals from all over the world which have been classified into groups and categories. It also has one of the biggest collections of invertebrate fossils in the Basque Country, as well as a large sample of minerals taken from mines and mountains in the Basque Country. Almost all of the invertebrate fossil groups are represented in the museum, arthropods and  insects, crustaceans and trilobites, molluscs such as cephalopods, bivalves and  gastropods, corals, echinoderms represented by crinoids, sea urchins and star fish.

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday: 6.30 pm – 8 pm; Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays:  11 am to 2 pm.  Guided tours must be booked in advance.
